Parked up by Ashgill Bridge on Middleton Road, we followed the road eastwards to the track linking over to Nenthead. Plenty of snow made this walk both beautiful and challenging.
We followed the track to meet the road up from Nenthead built to service the quarry. Followed this until it turned west to the quarry, at which point we traversed the field over deep snow. Path was undefined here, but we took bearings towards a group of outbuildings. We were glad to be descending, not climbing in these conditions.
Final descent back to the road and finish of a very enjoyable 5 mile walk.
